Work, Employment, Gender and Organizations

Addresses the understanding of new forms of work segmentation and social inequalities, new frameworks of labour relations and regulation of the labour market, from new alternatives to the employment crisis, the improvement of working conditions and learning opportunities; gender relations and lifelong learning.

This research group centres on the study of the dynamics of work, employment, skills, education, training and gender relations, at corporations and other organizations. Particular attention is given to certain themes, such as: Transformations in work and employment, processes of labour segmentation, and industrial relations; Gender relations – patterns of gender discrimination in education, science/technology and the labour market; Gender, poverty, perception of poverty and the Welfare State; Labour relations and labour law reforms; Quality of employment; Governmental and non-governmental organisations; International R&D networks; Education, skills, training and lifelong learning; Education, training and R&D in labour market regulation; Improvement of working conditions and quality of life.
