Joaquim Ramos Silva

 

Retired professor in the Department of Economics at ISEG-Ulisboa. Has coordinated the Master's program in International Economics and European Studies. Visiting professor at various foreign universities and research centres, including: CEPEAD/FACE, Federal University of Minas Gerais; Mineral Technology Centre/ Ministry of Science and Technology (Rio de Janeiro); Texas A&M University (College Station); Institute of World Economics (Kiel); University of Hitotsubashi (Tokyo); University of São Paulo; University of Orléans.

Honours degree in Economics from ISEG-UTL. PhD in ‘Economic Analysis and Policy’, École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, Paris. DEA in ‘Techniques Économiques, Prévision, Prospectives’. Degree in Economics from the ISE, Technical University of Lisbon.

Researcher in international economic relations, combining the methodology of international economics, international political economy and international business; the study of trade and FDI stands out, from the perspective of both public and business strategies and policies; the analysis of Portuguese-Brazilian economic relations has been one of the main vectors of his research.
