Professor at ISEG-ULisboa in Microeconomics, Applied Statistics, Economics of Innovation, R&D Management and Industrial Organisation. Former Vice-Dean of ISEG/UTL. Coordinator of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Courses at the Instituto Superior de Gestão Bancária (APB) and ISEG/IDEFE.

Honours Degree in Economics from the University of Beira Interior - UBI (2008). PhD in Economics, "Innovation in Services: Information Systems and Technologies and Competitiveness in the Banking Sector in Portugal", ISEG/UTL (1996). Master’s degree in economics, ‘Technology for Development: The Programme and Action in the Framework of the ACP-EEC Lomé Convention’, ISE/UTL (1988). Degree in Economics from Instituto Superior de Economia da Universidade Técnica de Lisboa - ISE/UTL (1981).

Research areas: Innovation Economics, Innovation Management, Design Management, Information Systems for the Banking Industry, Data Analysis.
